The past, present, and future of intimacy are all connected. And today’s topic is an excellent example of this. We’re talking about sexual shame. This is a subject very close to my heart because, frankly, I've experienced it a lot in my life.
Even just the phrase “sexual shame” elicits a reaction from people—good or bad. And I will tell you now, after speaking to thousands of people around the world, none of us is immune to the experience of sexual shame. No matter what country you were raised in, under what religion, what race, we all carry some shame around our sexuality, and that's what this episode is really going to be focused on.
Sexual shame is everywhere—on an individual, relational, and societal level—and it affects us deeply. Sexuality is an inside job, so your number one responsibility is to free yourself. And that begins—right now!
Here’s what we cover:
Examples of sexual shame we’re seeing—even in 2025
How men and women experience sexual shame differently
How everyday norms have been weaponized to keep women and men down
The role sex education and religion play in sexual shame
The loop of sexual assault and sexual shame
How sexual shame reaches across generations
I wanted to dedicate an entire episode talking about sexual shame because, as I hope I've demonstrated, the impact of it is felt daily, across the globe, across generations. Tell me why we shouldn't be talking about this on bigger platforms on global stages.
And tell me what you're gonna do about it now that you have this information. Talk to me. Put your notes in the comments. DM me. And stick with me. We're gonna work on it together!
